Besides being somewhat of a dreamboat, Richard Chai is an extremely talented designer. His collection for fall '08 had me smitten, hardbody. Chai used to be one the essential designers behind the Marc Jacobs line- something that definitely shows when you look at his work. His clothes are hip and of the moment yet classic at the same time- giving the wearer an air of effortless sophistication. Something I greatly appreciate. At times his work is minimal and Chai sticks to pale muted colors but when he does turn up the saturation it's purposeful and striking.
I was elated to hear that Chai will be doing a line for Target's Go International campaign which asks designers to put together pieces for a fraction of what they would normally charge. The line will be available in August but until then, here's a sneak preview of what you can expect:
Each of the looks is $90 or less and I appreciate that these discounted clothes are in keeping with his more expensive designs. I can't wait to mix and match!
