People all around the world are becoming more and more involved with expressing their creativity- especially when it comes to fashion.
Case and point is this video I found on thefashionspot.com which talks about the blossoming fashion culture in Cuba. These burgeoning designers are creating interesting pieces, catered to their own market and people. Styles reflect their own interactions, highlighting the beauty within the country's borders. Also, in spite of the lack of "prime" materials- as mentioned in the video, these designers are making it work- infusing designs with their own point of view, personal references and cultural content. Just look at their runways! Surprise street extravaganzas amidst crowds of people, live music and dancing... who wouldn't want to celebrate that? It's beautiful and underground- in that special way that only non-corporate art can be. I'm into it.
